Economics

This section is dedicated to exploring justice in the realm of economics, and the depth of the term in our everyday actions.

I believe the biggest area we can impact in the short term is economic. Economics affect every aspect of our lives, and here is potential for great change, challenge and witness to our communities and the world.

Economic pressures drive change, from apartheid to slavery to civil rights; each campaign for freedom and the ending of oppression began with confronting an unjust economy.

Opposing apartheid began for many with boycotting South African fruit. Slavery, as I said earlier in the justice section, included the economic boycott of sugar. And the civil rights movement in the USA? All the momentum came from a boycott of buses in Montgomery after Rosa Parks refused to move for a white man.
